COLOURS

I’m always in the pink
Always getting sucked in there like into a black hole

See, I’m fated to scarlet women
And they are feted by me
My charm is infectious
Much like herpes

But the party can’t last for ever
One or both of us gets the blues
Then she’s gone with my buddy and my best cd’s

She leaves me

With a half-empty wardrobe
And one of her worn-out shoes

Months later my life’s turned beige
I can’t even smell her on the sheets
Even though I’ve not washed them since

So what’s on the menu for tomorrow?
Much like today

Fade to grey

Welcome to Lit

and stay awhile;

your words are not joyous ones;

where have we heard this grey before...
