Darkness falls and it beckons to me,
The void, the serenity it promises to be.
Should into the cave I go or delve,
Such are the options this late after twelve.

From deep within me is a primal scream,
Continue to struggle or loosen the beam.
Days go by and the urge to fight slowly dies,
My heart torn apart by the many times I cry.

So often this cave is inviting and yet,
Once I enter I know I will begin to forget.
Everything that is me and I love and yet,
The scream becomes stronger than loves bright beam.

I will not forget and I will not go.
I cannot lose everything I have begun to sow.
Family, friends, people that care...
Too much to hold onto, too much to share.

Fret not as you read this a good bye it is not,
Simply a way to exercise some deep and unpleasant thoughts.
All because I wish today to whither and fade,
Like the sun over the golden and shining glade.
