Here I sit in wonderment
at what has been
The turning point that
has overcome my heart
I am a man whose existence
was in the secure shadows
centered in the cool pool
of self reliance.
How could I have known
my assumptions would fall
and my walls would be pierced
by her light?
My balance has been disturbed,
my exile ended.
I look beyond my barricades
and feel the heat upon my face,
the sun rises before me
blinding me to my own tears of joy.
I stand transfixed at the prospect of her
luminescence upon my event horizon.
