Heard it said once
He makes love, like poetry
I know not of this
Still, his words speak to me
Slight of hand
The stroke of his pen
Makes love to the page
His word play, my Zen
Laments full of beauty
Backlit by pain
He is winter and summer,
Both fire and rain
Duality of mankind
Flows through his veins
The salt in the wound
The salve for the pain
He is layered with flavors
The savory, the sweet
A tapestry of textures
Abrasive and sleek
Glimpse my traits in his words
And they leave me stricken
The good, bad and ugly
All wrapped up in ribbon
Devil and angel,
Holy wicked collision
He walks this fine line
On the road to perdition
smile as he read this? It's a great poem. I particularly liked
"He is layered with flavors
The savory, the sweet
A tapestry of textures
Abrasive and sleek"
Once again a poem that begs to be read out loud! And isn't that what we all strive for? The flow is fantastic, the images vivid. Well done! S. :)
