Failure, The Great and Glorious

I remember leaping
The air under me
Seeming to lift me
And the exaltation
The crash landing
I remember spinning
Death grip on the
Bar, feeling of
And the thump
I remember running
Full tilt
Eyes on the door
The glass shattered
I remember hyperventilating
Toes touching only
Three of twelve
Stairs and the
I remember the plop
Of cards, not mine
And the sweep of
Chips, no longer
I remember the shiny
In my face and a stream
Of crazed profanity
All mine
I remember him
And a needle
And a burnt spoon
And a baby that
Never was
I remember because
I learn best
It all goes
Horribly wrong
