Yes, it happened.
To more than just a few.
It made everything obscure,
It made life unreal.
If it was messed up before,
It's even worse for that.
Could it be describable?
No.
Could it be forgivable?
Maybe with painful death.
Will it ever go away?
No.
It will stay forever.
Leaving the misconstrued idea,
Of how the straight and narrow operate.
To realize the impact,
Is to understand the misinterpreted.
Never again to be told,
Always and forever apparent,
But never acknowledged,
For fear of being destroyed.
Always hidden,
Forever eating away at the core essence,
Of whatever could have been.
But never will get to be,
Because of it.

Very fine

I feel it. Sometimes shit happens but we don't have to just accept it.

After reading the other two comments, I have to say that I kind of like the mystery of it.

Ahh the ever-mutable "it". You made your audience need to take part and roused a whole bunch of empathy with your words but what would really make this poem outstanding in my view would be to condense it as far as you can through pruning and finding that one moving thought about "it" that would send SB into tears rather than just needing to give you a hug. Good poem, thank you for letting us read it.

Thank you for such an excellent piece. You left me desiring to know what "it" was so I could give you a hug.
