Sunset was striated
in the sideview mirror.

It hung in magenta sheets
like a clotheline, gold roped
between two pines, shaded
into the deepening gray.

I waited in the car.

That bottle of Merlot
could have painted another layer
on the Sun's graceful demise,

but we drank it instead
just like the day preceding it.

This has some wonderful imagery with a hint of depression in the image of sitting and drinking in a parked car.

impressive.

potent and succinct / you do have a way / i particularly like the way you break, both stanzas and lines / not only here, but everywhere it seems /

As you write it,

I see it...beautiful.

Great poems today

Fri & Sat are my two favorites. I like your writting,

but your ability to live a weekend will serve you longer

and better. Thanks for good stuff.
