Full moon over Saltspring Island

Last night a voluptuous moon
rose over Saltspring
veiled in thin cloud.
Her modest eye cast down,
pregnant with promises
of some secret favour.
Cedars witness her passage
over the crest, stark sentries
guarding her pale light.
Now mourning wisps of
mist remain,
memories of her passage
as the sun rises in her wake.
