Vishnu stood on the sand,
cast his many arms toward the sky,
glowering at the prince

who sat unperturbed until the spidery god
suddenly served up the sun in a green glass bowl.
They ate neutrons for lunch,

like figs fresh from Eden,
sang a mournful Te Deum,
dedicated the museum.
