She is easy where I am difficult.
She yields where I push back.
Where I am unforgiving, she embraces.
While I stand mute, incapable of the speech that could save me
her soothing tongue paves her way.

What you don't know:
I stood at the edge of the infinite pool that is you,
willing myself to climb the ladder and fall
into your cool blue baptism.
And while I clung, paralyzed, to the rungs
she stepped up and executed the perfect dive.
