Patience is a virtue
they say
never heard them say
anything
that really matters,

when the dam
leaves
the cubs
to forage and
the Hunter traps it,
how long is patience good for?

When the lamp gutters out and
plunges the cavern to darkness
what is patience good for?

He is late, she waits
Rising a phoenix
Strength
indomitable spirit         Two towers.

The leaves
flutter
madly in the west wind
Those chirping birds foretell spring
and then Nothing is the same
      Words are mere vessels
for the rancours of the mind

Control is
wanting the
light shine through,
but to lose
control
is to see
the light above the clouds

Is that a sentinel cry
as the last barriers
are breached
Pristine waters again.
Take the glass
lake
slip slowly ashore.
