It hit me like a wave of heat,
a ton of bricks,
a slap in the face.

It coated me like a sheet of silk,
a stream of wax,
a volcanic spill.

It lavished me with useless words,
a tossed command,
a whispered verse.

It showered me with hateful spite,
a razors cut,
a slicing knife.

It slammed me,
tossed me,
threw me far.

But I came back,
I hold all the cards.
Defeated the darkness
I freely stand
The victory is in my hands.

It crawled away,
a whimpered cry
a teardrop from its swollen eye.

It left defeated,
a broken wing,
a torn heart for all to see.

It won’t return,
a door closed tight,
a lock upon this soul feels right.

I will not let you back
you see.
I’ll not continue
on my knees.
I stand before you
free and strong
You, my dear. . .

Were always wrong.

In light of, "Be Gone,"

DC:

This one could be taken two different ways and mayhaps even three. Regardless, the outcome is happily your victory over whatever ghosts you've chosen to slay. Thank You. Ronnie W.
