Ain't it cool? And pretty?
It shows style and knows
how to draw you near
until you're schooled,
reconciled
to its whim.
Its dust is four
which tries too hard
but doesn't merit
more and seedy three
who barely sneaks
past poetry and rarely
has a chance; it's wee
but still ahead
of wild stumbling two,
all underfoot in saggy
puppy poems embarked
on yapping, crapping
on the carpet.
And then there's Tom
O'Bedlam one,
a clutch of words
confused and fool
as Icarus
pitching at the Sun
and falling feathers
scorching
in the plunge.
Sarky but wonderful. Good commentary on local political conditions. I love the tom bedlam song. It has great imagery. It reminds me of Brugel painting.
I see our voting system has been cleaned up and polished into a fine poem!
Excellent. I liked the reference to Tom o'Bedlam.
"For to see Mad Tom of Bedlam,
Ten thousand miles I've traveled.
Mad Maudlin goes on dirty toes,
For to save her shoes from gravel"
Jes, jes, jes, 'tis a five-sickle to go wit dat jive...no bribe, jest a five, cuz dis tang has vibe, Missy Angeline, who pens a surprise, wit dis five, dat don't jive.
How could puppy dogs crapping on the carpet be anything else?
