Life

Of tales old and long forgotten
With creatures dark and misbegotten
Words and thoughts never spoken
Vows and trusts- twisted and broken

Lazy days past long by
And trees so aged but never die
As flights of fancy, loose and fleeting
Young lover’s lips are meeting

War waged across all time
People starve and die without a dime
Towers of tribute rust away
Laid with flower fair for today

Never seeming in a hurry
Homes and lives lost to storms fury
Friends won with toothy smile
A small goal quite worthwhile

To this and more we are remanded
Live and learn, love and respect commanded
To all is planned without a plan
Till final rest, I wonder what I am
