Like liquid fire tears fell

from the hole pierced in my heart

sweet heat
like molten gold
shimmering with desire

a longing
thought extinguished long ago

spontaneous combustion reigniting
feelings feared forgotten

rekindled by the words you’d
whispered

embers of hope

sweet dreams my love
burn bright
