Late at night
Too late to know the time
There is a knock on my door

You enter my room
The light from the hallway blinding me
I feel a weight in my bed

You shouldn’t be here
They’ll be home any minute
And I asked you not to come

Too much wine
Too much beer
Too much booze

My head is spinning
Why won’t you just leave?
This isn’t the way I planned

Awkward conversation follows
But I still come back to you
Happily ever after for a time

Eight months go by
Before I know what hit me
Now I carry the secret on my heart
