Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?
One cannot describe you any better.
Like the warm wind breaking on my tan face,
I find you stunning, tepid, and gentle.
You bring a youth to golden fields of glee,
A shame to not lie on the sunny ground.

Hopeful grass coats the ever wanton ground
As sad songs are forgotten on this day.
Pink notes comprise the melodies of glee,
Lyrics of love and times of things better.
Poppies and lilac grow with ease. Gentle,
They woo the blooming and supple face.

Bounce and song cross over the youthful face
And wild flower petals coat the lithe ground.
Your eyes make rough waters calm and gentle.
Perceptive, they see through facades of day
And night. They claim the lightning storms better
Than the clouds could. You make storms all a-glee.

My sunflower, bloom and make the world glee.
Take the hurt and pain from the sullen face,
Replace the cold and dead with things better,
Support the world with roots deep in the ground,
Make the world bright like a summer’s day
And show the world that some things are gentle.

The hummingbird gathers the seed, gentle,
But quickly, to not stun the summer’s glee.
Sunflower, make haste, but gather the day,
Make the best of all of life, your young face
Will one day be etched with soil from the ground
Of tedium we call life, be better.

Be better than ones who thought of better
Times but did not see them through. Be gentle
With the children. Be gentle with the ground,
For it brings life to the youth, it brings glee
To those who need it. Let your youthful face
Bask in the sunrays of this summer’s day.

Sunflower, plant seeds in the ground with glee
You will be better, more stunning, gentle,
Lift your face up to the sky. Love each day.
