Am I living in reality

Or is this how love goes

Does it feel perfect

Is it a bed of roses

The pain of my past

Threatens to tear me apart

I have deep wounds

Embedded in my heart

Love, I know it ain't no bed of roses

Because every rose has its thorns

They draw blood

They leave you to morn

Freedom itself is not free

Dreams turn to nightmares

What once caused irresistible joy

Now gives you a hell of a scare

Grief comes easily

It is easy to hurt those you love

But you have to learn

Trust is a thing to take hold of

A fire can warm you

On a cold, damp night

But it can burn you

If it isn't handled right

A heart can shatter

One word can break it in two

Nothing can mend a broken heart

No matter what you try to do

So be careful what you do

The choices that you make

Remember just one thing

It is easy for a heart to break
