Click hereWithered eyes meander and stare,
They survive in memories of which they are not aware,
Like reefs eroded by the foul wastes of time,
Alone they slumber to the heedless bell's chime.
Once there stood a man among men,
Flawed of heart in a wake of lust and hate,
He grasped at words from love's empty pen,
He could not understabd his path or his fate.
Once there stood a man willing to cry,
He saw his blood glow bright in the night,
But time's sweet kiss would not let him die,
His sundered seed was stricken by blight.
Once there was a man who knew all things,
But he was deaf to the language of the heart,
He wrote of his passions and flings,
But love to his eyes was a souless chart.
Once there was an ordianary man,
No beauty, no ugliness, he did the best he could,
His wife and lovers left him without a plan,
When the night settled and the dust fell, forever an ordinary man he stood.
Drawn out faces stare blankly at the sun,
They are dead to their future and alive in their past,
But as love has dripped away they have nowhere to run,
Old men, echoing dead trees, cast shadows that do not last.
