These past few weeks, I've laid awake,
My thoughts drifting to you,
And I can't help wondering, wherever you are,
Are you thinking of me too?

What's on your mind? Are our thoughts the same?
Or am I just playing the loser in life's cruelest game?

I tried so hard to protect myself,
But my feelings wouldn't stay away,
I guess Robert Frost was right,
'Nothing Gold Can Stay.'
