I look eastward and you look west
from these shores and through the dark Atlantic
from North American twilight to wisp of Euro-dawn
two continents seem huge, but not enough
to keep Pangea forming once more, just as
water shapes land.
Taste my life through miles of sea
and feel as I, stars upon the skin of night
hear the same moment
of inseparable wind and wave, just as
Aries breathes twins.
Castor and Pollux need fire to passion
so inhale the aroma of these red clay shores
as they steam our wetness toward fate, just as
time accepts space.
Share with me this dark night, and tomorrow is ours
out of black sheath of the sea, of land and of sky, just as
we were yesterday.
