I saw you the other day
On the opposite side of the fence
I didn’t even know who you were

I wondered if you really loved me
Or just loved yourself
For acting like you loved me

I spun around on that merry-go-round
And you went merrily on your way
When I came around again
You were gone

But the merry-go-round keeps turning
Never slowing
And I know I will never tread
On the opposite side of the fence
