Last call for alcohol, barflies buzz off
Wino's clear the gutter, go back to your
apartments and park benches. Husbands
rush like children and street lights

Soft orange gentle glow creeps
Street lights make shadows walk
duck, dodge, Omnicity falls on the
city.

Women trot with purses clutched.
The last of the buses sighs away
from it's last stop, no destination,
no service. Taxis lie in wait.

Birds pipe down with bats awake.
Neighborhoods sleep with late show survivors.
Shut up.

Be quiet.
Prepare for Silence.
Night falls with the drop of the sun.

Some think the night changes everything,
they are certain.
Curiosity, mischief, lore.

Debauchery, the seedy underworld rises.

Everything is done.
Cars are off the street.
People are sleep, mostly.

When silence is here
it's a beautiful thing. Nothing happens
anyone is to be concerned of,
'cept concernable things.

I know I'll be out there,
in that shit. Are you getting sleepy?
