Quiet
Nature lay quiet
Spread before her
As she lays half asleep
Caught between dreams and day

Crystal blue green water
Slippery surface Mirrored
Reflects the Green
Of Hills and Trees

All is silent
Even her heartbeat
As stirring for the first time
Nature wakes

A gentle noise
A rhythmic stirring
Of the lake coming to life
Insects Getting Ready to meet the day

A slow buzz only seems to make
Her waking even harder to undertake

The wind moves gentle upon the glass
Of the water, tiny ripples begin to appear
From the fish seeking out insects
Caught up by the sheen of the water

She exults in the sunlight
As it gently warms her skin
Seeking to move her yet
Trapping her in her place

As she waits for him
For her lover
For her best friend
He promised her he’d come

Now she hears the footfalls
That beckon her attention
But she waits eyes closed
In anticipation…
