There's too much rain these days. At break of dawn
the window's zebra'd over, and I wake
with a numb sense of too much cloud ahead,

the dread of doubt. And when I leave the house
rain floods the morning. On the shining roads
the sky lies belly-up, suffused with leaves,

and from the puddles water has a go
at passing trousers, hurrying inside -
November morning, dull and wet and wide.
