I often wonder
on days like these
how you can bear it
Our absence
one from the other
Intimacy wrenched away
while the rain falls down
and the cars shush by
And we grow older minute by second

I always wonder
on days like this
if I’m there
inside your heart
Dancing with you
to an unforgettable melody
As the rain falls down
whetting my desire
while the minutes creep on by

On days like this
I always feel
as if I can’t bear it
Your absence from me
Your unwillingness or inability
to even try
to catch a fleeting moment
But the minutes pass into days
as the rain fades away
And there you are again

I can feel

the ache. I like the sameness yet differences in the stanzas. Heartfelt and intimate. Very touching. Well done!

Bravisima!

The poem is utterly beautiful, rich with feelings of desire and love lost in the rain, remembered and eroticized. C'est jolie.

Do I even need to say...

Just how lovely this is coming from you? It IS lovely, dearest friend. Just, heartfelt and present and glowing with tendons of strength and the ache of knowing Alone.

You "tickled" my heart

It’s on days like these - When I no longer need to wonder - if I am the only one who feels that longing, - The ache that only her touch can soothe. Thank you for putting it to words. Beautiful. - Chip
