Blackened by the coal fires
Memories of the blitz
Sooty, smoky windows

The station roof’s still standing
Despite all that he’s seen
He’s glad to have our company

Worn out and battle weary
Is it time to call it in?
We hope to see this roof again
In a state that is less dreary
