These stone walls will turn to sand,
Someone will pick up and hold in their hand.
Tiny pieces of a once lived life,
It all goes with time, disappearing.

It will come back one day, just as life will.
Though, we will never know.
Deep in our minds we do,
If we have been here before or not.
Soon we will find a way to know,
All done by machine.

But then again, what about the human race?
Will we too disappear, as an inevitability?
Will we crumble in the heat?
Dissolve in the pollution?
Or will we find a way to reverse this?

We will never know, unless we find a way soon,
Some time out there, life expectancy will rise,
Hooked to machines for the rest of our lives,
All because of modern advances.

Or will we realize this is a bad idea,
And go back to horse and carriage,
Kerosene lamps, and farming our own fields?

But then again, the earth is polluted,
Soon empty of it's nutrients.
We won't be able to grow fields, drink water from a spring.
It will all be "purified" with chemicals.
It won't be safe, too much pollution created and soaked in.
We'll never be able to reverse it, no future if we don't stop soon.
