Shoulders back, head held high
Meeting eyes of all I pass
Who cares what they think?
I’m a superhero in my own right.
Everything that comes my way, I make it through
Knock me down, but I don’t stay down long
Too much to do,
And too much faith in myself.
I can take anything.
Look at all I’ve accomplished.
Writer, teacher, great with kids
My own children most of all
And all the work I’ve done
Making myself the best I can be.
Sure of myself
Sure of who am I and who I want to be
Sure of where I’m going
Who cares where I’ve been?
Been there, done that
Got past it all
Good, bad, or neither, doesn’t matter
All of it’s made me what I am
And what I am is all of the above
And above all that tries to hold me down.
Strong, powerful, proud, confident
