The Artisan's Wait

fried twinkies, funnel cakes
creatures on a stick
fog of grease and powdered sugar
hangs over the artisan tent
one track minds with depot asses
waddle by clutching heart attacks

I wait for martini ladies
lighthouse lovers
originals who crave the same
I wait for the next festival
where bib overalls don't exist
and chewing tobacco is frowned upon
