The Artist's Lullaby

Her muse slumbers peacefully,
As pencil moves quickly over paper.
Catching light and shadow,
Every nuance the eye can see.

Smiling at the sleeping child,
She catches him unawares,
The curve of a perfect nose,
And the light in his hair.

The love of her grandson,
Becomes a vision to the eye,
To become forever on paper,
The Artist’s lullaby.

A precious little picture,
Of a sleeping angel,
This slumber’s tender moment,
Drawn at every angle.
