The road ahead is very dark
I wish I knew where I’m going
Travelling the road I started on
The minute I began growing

Every move is mindless
Every step unsure
My uncertainty has made me ill
I wish I knew a cure

But still I keep on going
Trying to find any clues
To figure out where I am headed
And what I am to choose

Only Fate knows my destination
Only Curiosity keeps me alive
To figure out if I’ll be a bum
Or be a success and thrive

Where is Destiny taking me?
Where do I belong?
All I really know is
Life’s one big sad song

The road ahead is rocky
With a many a pothole and ditch
Loaded with evil hitchhikers
Who’ll ride me then call me a bitch

The road ahead is very dark
I won’t see them when they come
Then I will be blinded
And then left cold
And numb

I can’t rely on Lady Luck
To help ease my blues
For as Father Time drags me away
I’ll make a choice
And lose

In dreams I see different images
Of what I may or may not be
But dreams are mindless pictures
Manifestations of a plea
And so I keep on travelling
Living day to day
Hoping that someone will light a torch
And guide me on my way

The road ahead is very dark
But I keep right on moving
For not even blind uncertainty
Is going to stop me from living
