You're all day on the couch,
But never turn on the TV.
(This mood has no corners ...)
You put on the kettle,
But you don't get up when it boils.
(Nothing ever scalds you,
Not with your novocained mind)
Yesterday's routine bores you,
But you'll do it again tomorrow.
(Your ennui has mated with your emptiness
And a headache is born)
You go on answering the phone,
But you don't really follow the conversation.
(It's been a while that you don't care that you don't care)
You have been howling for the road,
But ignoring the open gate.
(Things used to be black,
But now they're grey and that's worse)
You're so tired of life,
But suicide would require you to do something.
(This is all so mediocre, it could go on forever ...)

'Your ennui has mated with your emptiness

And a headache is born', doesn't get anymore elegant than that.
