The path between us
mental footprints
pushing down the ferns
over the hills it zags
a ring of thought
pristine prints
yet, no touch to tantalize
or kiss to etch forever
on lips needing brush of same

if I had wings I'd come to you today
just to find magic in your eyes
and hear your voice
angelically against the my soul
like waves breaking across white sand
purity of thought, simplicity of need
on faith it feeds
blossoms to a bouquet
a rainbow of flowers
petals pulled to scent the bed
sensual as the birth of self
joined for a season
of minutes, hours, days
each one a renaissance

just a dream
spilled on white paper
reaching for you
but love stands alone
never taking sides
or hearing prayers
