Shadows dance, my eyes grow wide, my mouth opens in awe
The beauty of the storm is more perfect than what I saw.
The lightning bolts that chase each other through the dark purple sky
Bring light to my isolated world, one in the morning nigh.
My heartbeat counts the moments until thunder pounds my ears.
Although I am not scared, I do wish that you would be here to ease my fears.

I tuck my arms beneath my chin as I lie forward on the bed.
The windowsill is now the place where I rest my weary head.
I watch the storm brew gloriously in the sky above,
And I make a wish on each thunder crash that I might hear my love.
His voice may whisper to me, carried on the humid winds;
Call me his love, his life, his darling, re-assure me that I'm his.

I can smell his scent, wafting towards me on the humid breeze,
The fragrant memory haunting, practically bringing me to my knees.
The subtleness reminds me of his soft touch upon my hair,
Fingers combing as lightly as the soft raindrops hitting there.
The cool water pierces the screen, my eyes fluttering closed
As I again feel his tender kisses brushing against my nose.
