Such a perfect day
The sun is shining
Smiling happy faces
Celebration of love

Music surrounds me
Caresses me, comforts me
But then, that song
Reminds me of you

A dark cloud smothering me
I can hardly breathe
Searching for you in the crowd
Although I know you can’t be there

A glimpse out the corner of my eye
A shadow, no, more like a void
The place where you should be
A piece of my soul forever lost

On such a beautiful day
I should not be so full of sorrow
I weep, unable to contain the emotion
And pretend they are tears of joy

Very, very poignant

"The place where you should be" - very well phrased.

Wedding time - get the handkerchiefs

Every one cries at weddings; some are happy, some wish they could, some who remember the time they were happy and some who never had the chance; and yes, even those who don't - do too but inside.

A sense of foreboding in this tale of an "I do" given to an 'also ran'.

interesting...

I liked the way the poem played out, dark clouds on a sunny day!
