The grief I feel is my heart's way
of saying I have loved and lost
And though my tears may flow today
I will never regret the cost

For as the sun must rise and fall
And the season's harvests ripen
So will my broken heart knit all
And the clouds of pain will lighten

But time will never dull or stale
The mem'ries of her arms and love
When I was but a mortal male
And she, an angel from above
