Sometimes we can lose things we take for granted,
The kinds of things we think are always near by.
But then the thing's gone before we know it, and,
We don't miss our water, til our well runs dry!

We tend to take for granted that our loved ones,
Will always be there for us waiting near by.
Then "Death" comes quickly to make it's claim, and,
We don't miss our water, til our well runs dry!

People start out life with hopes of happiness,
And it don't matter if they're forward or shy.
They build and endeavor to make a life, and,
They don't miss their water, til their well runs dry!

It don't matter much how old or young we are,
If the thing we love is something we hold nigh.
If it's Freedom, or a loved one, or a friend,
We'll not miss our water, til our well runs dry!!
