a heavy moon rises
full in yellow glory
it’s a moon to be shared,
I think, awed at its presence
and wonder if the clouds
obscure your view
if so, I wonder if you feel
the tug that rules the tides

my thoughts leave the moon
and turn to you as Christmas nears
A New Year of life, life which is so fleeting
so uncertain, never revealing
a fated wind rushing under star crossed skies

It leaves me wishing things were simpler
as simplistic as midsummer’s night kiss
against the backdrop of tumbling waves
sparkling like a million angels
dancing on the surface under the moonlight
as simplistic as two sets of footprints
in the packed white sand of a beach forever kissed
