her shining Sumatra dark hair
behind her ear
and smiled.
When she reached the counter
I thought she said
"Double short nonfat decaf cappuccino dry."
But it was noisy
Vampire Weekend
and the clatter of stoneware.
So it might have been
"Force me
to my fucking knees
on this Tuscan tile
and make me
do things
these fuckers
will still talk about
in thirty years."
