Water Sprite

While Daddy's out tilling the back-forty
She slips her overalls off
Dances around the farm
Nimble and sporty
Petite, somewhat skinny
Dips herself in a water trough

When left alone to mind the store
This freckled, bespeckled nymph
Behaves quite daring and naughty
Baring it all on the lawn
Darting through the sprinklers
Doing cartwheels in the sunshine

She was the one who taught me
This simple life of hers
One we could all be living
Is the nearest thing to divine

Fairskinned milkhouse maiden she is
Well aware that every Thursday
Promptly at ten-thirty five
I deliver eight bushels sacks of feed
My Dixieland farie, well .....
She just disappears when I arrive

I consider myself very fortunate
Whenever I catch a fleeting glimpse
A peek of her derriere

When my truck overheated last week
That's when I caught that rural pixie by surprise
Totally in the buff
Completely in the bare

Witnessing more than enough of my fair share

Hiking a mile up the road with an empty jug
My misfortune was indeed truly a blessing
That unicorn was meandering in the stables
So vibrant in spirit
Shimmering and sleek
While in the act of lazily undressing
A demi goddess from old world fables

I took note of every auburn fleck
And mole all the way down
To her muff tufted with red curls of hair
Where goosebumps adorned
The smooth virgin valley bordering her thighs

Stepping nearer in an error of judgement
A twig snapped snapped under my shoe

And the alarm went off in her eyes

Turned into rigid stone I was
In the presence of her essence
Exotic creature from ancient mythology
Curiosity little excuse for tresspassing
She took the jug from my hand
Leaving me fumbling for an adequate apology

She dipped it in the water trough
Flaunting her rear high up in the air
Saying, Monday, I go back to university
Blatantly arching her breasts outward
Adding, But I'll be home on weekends
She handed the water back to me

Like a mariner bespelled by songs of sirens
It took my brain a while to sort this out
Accepting the parting gift from my lovely water sprite
I then limped my ailing truck back to town
And begged for a rescheduling of my delivery route
