Her depth of beauty changes
from darkness into light
in and out of shadows
the downtown neon night
dressed in trashy finery
the persona she puts on
an alias perpetuated
from sundown until dawn
fingers brightly painted
she steps from heel to toe
all along the boulevard
the one where Johnny goes
