You taught me how to laugh
and you taught me how to cry.
How can I reconcile
these feelings I have inside?

The good times were the best.
We had fun, we played.
How can I not miss that?
How can I not want that again?

The bad times hurt my heart,
more than the pain wore me out.
I cried so many times,
drenched in self-doubt.

I needed you to love me,
you taught me how you lied.
I wanted you so badly,
you taught me to feel denied.

All these things you taught me,
both good and bad somehow,
have made me stronger still,
I'm learning how to use them now.
