Your voice is a warm blanket,
and you wrap around me
your gentle words.
Peace settles soft against my restless heart.
Close to you,
cheek pressed to the receiver,
we speak of things important
and not.
I find my stress and sorrow
become part of some other day.
I curl up in the dark
quiet of my bedroom.
My heart cradles with yours,
eyes grow heavy,
and the smile I smile only for you
finds it’s way to my lips.
I cannot kiss you goodnight.
I whisper the sentiment
with all my emotion
filling the curves of
the pretty rounded vowels.

very nice

Your last four lines are particularly strong here. A nice ending.

Nice.

Like your piece a lot. I especially liked the lines "and the smile I smile only for you, finds it’s way to my lips."

Thank you.
