I suggest you take a night off after completing the story, then after a good night's rest, proofread 10 times and make corrections and changes that improve the story before submitting it.
As long as you do not allow yourself to fall into the rewrite-itis trap, it will tend to improve your stories....don't forget about readin any dialog out loud a couple of times as an aural "sanity check". Remember, if it doesn't sound like natural speech, it isn't.
