Missing someting

The story had no drama, or passion at all. Rather a drab tale, he's redundant, doing poorly, I guess his wife, or him borrows money from a loan shark. Unable to pay it back, he steals the bad guy's money and burns his house down. Not a tear shed, nor an unpleasant word said the whole time..

It's more of a dispassionate recounting of events than a story.
