§ is unnecessary

I find the "§" marks distracting. Most of the language footnoted so far is common usage or can be inferred from context. I suggest you leave out the "§" and notes in the next installment, see if anyone asks for explanations.

I suggest the fantasy novels of the late Anne McCaffrey as examples of how to build a fantasy world (and let the reader discover it) without footnotes.

I understand. I mostly footnote these words because even though words like 'Oaf' might be easy to just look up, terms like Bloody Crystal might not be as easy to infer. But I'll take your advice and try to only footnote things that I feel might be REALLY confusing or just plain need my extra input ^^
