Sweet little story that stops in the middle. I presume a sequel is planned.

BTW, "Matt and I laid down" is correct. The difference? 'lay down' is the present tense of the verb phrase "to lay down", while 'laid down' is the preterite tense, which is in keeping with the rest of the story.
