It seemed technically well written, just a little more....
....editing would have poised it for prime time.
It ran a little brusque in spots, as a story. And as a story, I was not much taken with it.
I guess to be honest, I was put off that she entered into an adulterous affair in so matter-of-fact a fashion. That she fell in love with her lover, but allowed no recognition of any change in her marriage, also put me off.
I find these claims extremely naïve.
I do not see a person loving two people emotionally and sexually more or less equally....especially so in long term affairs. They are so devastating, because the two lovers get so deeply involved, if they don't lose interest as the "new and hot" nature of the cheat wears off.
Now, arguably, you did not say that, but rather, implied it from the glib statement (paraphrased) that hubby could do it for her any more, so she went and got it somewhere else.
You did your story and your readers a disservice when you failed to explore the other side of both relationships. If you do a sequel, I'd like to see that done.
But I still contend that both marriages are significantly altered by the adultery.
Even if both other spouses know and agree, the relationships will shift, along with loyalties and priorities. It would be a great use of your considerable talent to address these in some additional episodes, if not another story.
