Letting down your hair

...can be liberating. Though I like your sonnets as well, I like what you've done here a lot. I like the rawness of the lust being expressed, and yet affection comes through. You throw light on the contradictions of the poem's subject, but at the same time express the tension and contradictions in the narrator: tension between raw, unashamed carnality and the beginnings of something else, softer and deeper. The free verse is, to me, perfect for this one, or so my instinct tells me.
